Frequently Asked Questions

1- Is a certificate from PalDAOnline accredited?

Palestine Design Academy Online (PalDAOnline) is registered in the Commercial Court of the city of Paris, France under registration number 888 073 525 R.C.S. PARIS but is not yet an accredited institution, nor is it affiliated with an accredited institution. However, accreditation and/or formal affiliation with an accredited institution is a future goal of the Palestine Design Academy and the content and caliber of the programs and courses offered by PalDAOnline have been developed with future accreditation in mind. PalDAOnline provides a certificate signed and sealed from the current address of PalDAOnline in the city of Paris, for both the annual core programs and for the specialized workshops, provided that the prescribed study materials are completed and successfully passed. PalDAOnline is not a university, but an online educational platform in the field of digital design.

2- What are the requirements for joining PalDAOnline's educational programs?

The main purpose of establishing PalDAOnline is to provide educational and training opportunities in the fields of digital design for everyone, especially those who not willing or able to enroll in a formal, accredited university program for whatever reason. All designers and engineers who are looking forward to refining their capabilities as well as developing their design abilities can participate in one of the PalDAOnline programs, courses, or specialized workshops. Passion and desire are the most important requirements for joining PalDAOnline, regardless of your high school or college grades.

3- How is teaching conducted at PalDAOnline?

For the main annual study programs, teaching takes place through distance learning courses via the Internet in the form of 120 training hours per year, delivered as synchronous live streaming lectures on a weekly basis according to a specific schedule, combined with an asynchronous requirement consisting of exercises, study materials, research, and other homework assigned by instructors with an expectation of self-guided, student-led learning outside of the fixed synchronous lecture schedule, supported by instructors during virtual office hours and via email communication and online chats. PalDAOnline instructors will also assign practical projects that students will be required to  undertake and complete according to a specific timetable with milestones and deadlines, to ensure that instructor are able to monitor and evaluate whether and how students are appropriately applying and effectively implementing what they learn in each course. In addition, practical, “real-world” training and internships at companies and organizations are compulsory for all students during break periods. For the specialized workshops, training schedules and meetings will be flexible and set up based on what suits registered participants to avoid any conflicts with their study programs or their private work.

4- Is there a penalty for early withdrawal from a PalDAOnline program?

What is the refund policy? Students who wish to withdraw from educational core courses and specialized workshops before completing them must do so within a maximum period of two weeks from the start date in order to receive a full refund, which will be provided within 10 days.

5- Is it possible to study at the Palestine Design Academy at its current address in Paris?

It is not possible to study at the Academy in-person at this time. All PalDAOnline courses and workshops are currently offered online through distance learning via the Internet, through a hybrid model that combines synchronous and asynchronous learning. However, annual workshops and an annual design festival in Paris and other European cities will be announced in the future, at which in-person participation will be possible.
